About Grég Capron
I’m an architect, designer, and builder with over 35 years of experience in the UK and internationally. My work spans large-scale urban regeneration, modular housing, retail, conservation, and community-led projects.
My design philosophy is simple: only design what you know how to build. I’ve spent years on construction sites, working closely with contractors and skilled craftspeople — learning what truly works, and what doesn’t.
I thrive on solving problems — whether that’s sketching ideas, refining a factory detail, or troubleshooting on site. I also enjoy working with people, especially across languages, cultures, and disciplines. Bringing ideas together and turning them into reality is what drives me.
I founded Arche17 not only to offer my own experience, but to build a network of trusted collaborators — talented individuals I’ve worked with over the years — so we can deliver something greater than the sum of its parts.

Arche17 is a collaborative studio where architectural design, construction, and fabrication come together. While I often lead projects directly, I work hand-in-hand with a long-standing group of manufacturers, tradespeople, engineers, and consultants — many of whom I’ve partnered with for years.
Together, we deliver thoughtful, practical design — from first concept through to completion. Whether we’re shaping a new build, restoring an old one, or setting up a manufacturing process, we operate as one integrated team — committed to getting the job done, and done well.
